Reciprocating Gas Compressor Packages

Engineered, skid-fabricated reciprocating compression packages for upstream, midstream, and industrial natural gas handling — built, tested, and field-supported for continuous duty.

Overview

Reciprocating compression built for continuous, high-differential-pressure duty

Fintelius engineers and fabricates reciprocating natural gas compressor packages — the compressor frame and cylinders, driver, suction scrubbers, pulsation dampening, cooling, and controls — skid-mounted, piped, and wired as a single tested unit ready for site installation.

Reciprocating technology is matched to services that call for high compression ratios and stable performance across a wide range of suction pressures and gas compositions, from wellhead gas lift through pipeline boosting, and is engineered and shop-tested before it ever reaches site.

  • Single, two, three & four-stage reciprocating packages, 90 – 5,000+ hp
  • Discharge pressures to 1,650 psig; capacities from 50 to 6,000+ CFM
  • Skid-mounted with integrated scrubbers, coolers, pulsation bottles & PLC controls
  • Engineered, built & tested to API 618, ISO 13631, ASME VIII Div. 1 & ANSI B31.3

How It Works

From process data to a commissioned package

Every reciprocating compression package follows the same disciplined path from engineering through startup.

1

Process & Sizing Study

Suction/discharge pressures, gas composition, and flow rate are used to size frame, cylinders, and stage configuration.

2

Frame & Driver Selection

Compressor frame, cylinders, and gas engine or electric-motor driver are matched and coupled for the duty point.

3

Skid Fabrication & Piping

Scrubbers, coolers, pulsation bottles, and process piping are fabricated and mounted onto a structural skid base.

4

Controls & Instrumentation

PLC/SCADA controls, safety shutdown systems, and field instrumentation are wired and integrated with the package.

5

Shop Run & Commissioning

The package is mechanically run, leak- and pressure-tested, then commissioned and started up in the field.

Core Equipment

Package components engineered for continuous field duty

Every reciprocating package is built around proven frame, driver, and skid components sized to the application.

01

Reciprocating Compressor Frame

Heavy-duty frames and cylinders sized for 1- to 4-stage compression across a wide ratio range.

02

Gas Engine & Electric-Motor Drivers

Driver selection matched to site fuel availability, power access, and duty cycle.

03

Suction Scrubbers

Liquid knockout ahead of each compression stage protects cylinders from carryover and slugging.

04

Inter-Stage & After-Coolers

Air-cooled or fin-tube heat exchangers control discharge gas temperature between and after stages.

05

Pulsation Bottles & Dampeners

Suction and discharge pulsation vessels sized per API 618 to control piping vibration and pressure pulsation.

06

Structural Skid Base

Fabricated steel skid carries compressor, driver, vessels, and piping as one transportable, alignable unit.

07

PLC & Shutdown Controls

Programmable controls with field instrumentation manage loading, alarms, and emergency shutdown.

08

Lubrication & Utility Systems

Force-feed cylinder and frame lubrication, cooling water, and instrument air systems integrated on-skid.

09

Exchangeable Cylinder Liners

Sliding-fit, replaceable liners simplify maintenance and extend cylinder service life in the field.
